Marathi Sathi ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who use our matrimonial platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and applicable international privacy regulations.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Registration Data: Name, email address, mobile number, gender, date of birth, password
Profile Information: Religion, mother tongue, caste, education, occupation, income, height, weight, complexion, marital status, family details
Photos: Profile pictures you upload
Communication Data: Messages exchanged with other users, interest requests, contact form inquiries
Payment Information: Transaction IDs, plan details (we do NOT store card/bank details — handled by Razorpay)

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

IP address, browser type, operating system
Pages visited, time spent, referral sources
Device information and session data

Important: We collect only the information necessary to provide our matrimonial services. We shall not collect any information beyond what is required for the stated purpose as per the DPDP Act, 2023.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your personal data is used for the following lawful purposes:

Creating and managing your matrimonial profile
Displaying your profile to potential matches (with privacy controls)
Facilitating interest requests and messaging between users
Sending email notifications (OTP verification, interest alerts, account updates)
Processing subscription payments
Responding to support queries
Improving our platform and user experience
Preventing fraud and maintaining platform security
Complying with legal obligations

We DO NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data in these limited cases:

With Other Users: Your profile (first name, age, religion, etc.) is visible to registered users. Contact details (email, phone, surname) are shared ONLY when you accept an interest request.
Payment Processor: Razorpay processes payments. Their privacy policy applies.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or government authority under Indian law.
Service Providers: Email services (for OTP / notifications) under strict confidentiality agreements.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data:

Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard hashing (bcrypt)
Sessions are secured and managed server-side
Contact details are access-controlled (visible only after mutual interest acceptance)
Payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS compliant Razorpay gateway
Regular security monitoring and database backups

While we strive to protect your data, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but take all reasonable precautions.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active
Upon account deletion request, personal data is removed within 30 days
Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax/legal compliance
Anonymized/aggregated data may be retained for analytics

6. Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023 and international privacy norms, you have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of your personal data
Correction: Update inaccurate information via Edit Profile
Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated data
Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw consent for data processing at any time (this may limit platform functionality)
Grievance Redressal: Contact our Grievance Officer at service@marathisathi.com
Nominate: Nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity (as per DPDP Act)

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use session cookies to maintain your login state. We do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising. Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser or log out.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. We recommend reviewing their policies.

9. Children's Privacy

Our platform is strictly for adults meeting the legal marriage age requirements:

Males: Must be at least 21 years old
Females: Must be at least 18 years old

We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover that a minor has registered, the account will be immediately removed.

10. International Users

If you access Marathi Sathi from outside India:

Your data is stored on servers in India
By using our platform, you consent to data transfer to India
We make reasonable efforts to comply with GDPR and other applicable international privacy laws
EU/EEA users have additional rights under GDPR (data portability, restriction of processing)

महत्त्वाचे: आम्ही फक्त आमच्या वैवाहिक सेवा प्रदान करण्यासाठी आवश्यक असलेली माहिती गोळा करतो. DPDP कायदा, २०२३ नुसार नमूद उद्देशासाठी आवश्यक असलेल्यापेक्षा जास्त माहिती आम्ही गोळा करणार नाही.

२. तुमची माहिती कशी वापरतो

तुमचा वैयक्तिक डेटा खालील कायदेशीर उद्देशांसाठी वापरला जातो:

तुमचे वैवाहिक प्रोफाइल तयार करणे आणि व्यवस्थापित करणे
संभाव्य जोडीदारांना तुमचे प्रोफाइल प्रदर्शित करणे (गोपनीयता नियंत्रणांसह)
वापरकर्त्यांमधील स्वारस्य विनंत्या आणि संदेश सुविधा प्रदान करणे

६. तुमचे हक्क

DPDP कायदा, २०२३ आणि आंतरराष्ट्रीय गोपनीयता मानकांनुसार, तुम्हाला खालील हक्क आहेत:

प्रवेश: तुमच्या वैयक्तिक डेटाच्या प्रतीची विनंती करणे
सुधारणा: प्रोफाइल संपादित करून चुकीची माहिती अद्ययावत करणे
हटवणे: तुमचे खाते आणि संबंधित डेटा हटवण्याची विनंती करणे
संमती मागे घेणे: तुम्ही कधीही डेटा प्रक्रियेसाठी संमती मागे घेऊ शकता (यामुळे व्यासपीठाच्या कार्यक्षमतेवर मर्यादा येऊ शकतात)

७. कुकीज आणि ट्रॅकिंग

९. मुलांची गोपनीयता

११. या धोरणातील बदल
